Braun CoolTec Wins 2013 reddot Product Design Award

Functional and aesthetic design are one thing, while performance is another. We’re happy to report that the Braun CoolTec is faring well in both categories lately.

Among thousands of submitted products, the shaver recently won the 2013 reddot Product Design Award, one of the most prestigious industrial design awards in the world.

The shaver features a distinctive aesthetic design combining a unique icy-blue color with a premium black contrasting in parts of the body. The ergonomic body of the shaver and the intuitive handling via the icicle button activate the cooling feature, which cools down the skin during the shaving process to minimize irritation and provide a relaxed and fresh skin sensation right after shaving.

With this award, the new Braun CoolTec joins an exclusive category of more than 250 Braun products that have received leading international design awards throughout the past five decades.

At the end of last year, USA Today selected Braun CoolTec as one of its 2013 Trend Products.

P&G Receives Tell Award From Swiss Ambassador

Switzerland recently recognized five U.S. companies with the Tell Award for major recent inward investment projects. At an event hosted by Bloomberg in New York City, P&G -- celebrating our 60th anniversary in Switzerland -- received the award in connection with the extension of our Health Care business in Geneva.

In front of more than 200 invited guests and officials from the Swiss government, the awards, named for legendary Swiss hero William Tell, were presented to senior executives of the honoree companies by the Ambassador of Switzerland to the United States, H.E. Manuel Sager. (See photo below.)

Ambassador Sager said, "In Switzerland we welcome both large and small companies as investors, as demonstrated by those being honored this year that range in size but nevertheless are very important in contributing to the spirit of innovation that is Switzerland's forte.”

Dating from 2004, the Tell Awards program is sponsored by Switzerland Trade and Investment Promotion, the Swiss federal agency that assists companies expanding internationally in their evaluation and setup process. In addition to P&G’s, this year’s honorees were IBM, InterMune, KAYAK and Maxwell Technologies.
