P&G Recognizes What it Takes to 'Raise an Olympian'

Video Series Shares Stories Behind the Athletes
Tuesday, July 17, 2012 10:10 am EDT

In less than two weeks, all eyes around the globe will be focused on the world’s most elite athletes as they converge in London for the London 2012 Olympic Games. As the “Proud Sponsor of Moms” and a Worldwide Olympic Games sponsor, P&G is using its voice at the Olympic Games to say “Thank You Mom” to all moms everywhere.

Through our Company and our leading brands, like Tide®/Ariel®, Gillette®, Pampers® and others, P&G is sponsoring more than 150 Olympians from all regions around the globe. P&G believes that behind every athlete is an even more amazing mom who has supported her athlete and helped him or her achieve the dream of competing on the world’s greatest stage.

As part of the Company’s Thank You Mom campaign and following on the success of the video inspiration behind the campaign, the “Best Job” video, P&G is proud to share a new video series. The “Raising an Olympian” tributes consist of two- to three-minute documentary-style videos that share the journeys of several Olympians in becoming world-class athletes, as seen through the eyes of their moms.  These videos are available on P&G You Tube Channels*, as well as Yahoo’s Shine sites/Team Mom tab around the globe. We invite you to share your favorites with family and friends.

P&G’s Thank You Mom campaign kicked off in April and is coming to life through a variety of media channels and in-store with a worldwide retailer program that runs through August. Olympic Games-themed P&G branded products are being featured in four million of stores across the globe. As a part of the P&G Thank You Mom promotion, P&G has committed to raise $5 million to support local youth sports programs in many countries, through a portion of sales and donations from the company’s leadership brands including Pampers®, Tide®, Gillette® and Pantene®.

*On the P&G Channel on You Tube, you can select other countries by clicking on the globe located on the right hand side of the page and choosing a country from the drop down menu.
