From Packaging to Global Business Services, P&G Recognized for Innovation

P&G Also Makes List of Top Ten Meaningful Brands in World

In recent weeks, P&G has earned accolades for our ability to innovate, being recognized for our Global Business Services work as well as our ability to continually innovate on packaging. The innovation recognition comes on the heels of recognition as one of the Top Ten Meaningful Brands in the World as well as one of the top-performing purchasing organizations. 

P&G, Global Business Services Organization Honored As Gold Stevie Award Winner

Procter & Gamble and its Global Business Services (GBS) organization were presented with a Gold Stevie® Award in the Most Innovative Company – Over 2,500 Employees category in The 11th Annual American Business Awards in Chicago on Monday, June 17.

The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the trophies were presented to honorees during a gala banquet.

More than 3,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Most Innovative Company of the Year, Management Team of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year and Executive of the Year, among others.  

The P&G nomination for this year’s Awards Competition showcased the critical work within the GBS organization to drive, enable and deliver the Company’s Going Digital strategy. The featured case study for the application was the AMP IT UP program in GBS, which was an ambitious but highly-successful plan to elevate the digital capability and tools for 60,000 P&G employees in six weeks, delivered through more than 200 on-site events. This program allowed GBS to positively-impact one of the Company’s key strategic focus areas: Productivity.

P&G Receives DuPont Continuing Innovation Award for Packaging

On the 25th anniversary of the DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation, the Company honored past winners who have won the prestigious award five or more times, reflecting a commitment to continuing innovation.

P&G was proud to be among the honorees, recognized for our ability to continually innovate on packaging.

“Beginning with its first win in 1989 for Spic & Span® Pine Cleaner, Procter & Gamble has been a winner of the DuPont Awards 13 times,” said Shanna Moore, program leader for the DuPont Awards program. “This clearly reflects an ongoing commitment to meeting consumer needs through innovative new products.”

The DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation is the industry's longest-running, global, independently judged celebration of innovation and collaboration throughout the value chain. Each year an esteemed panel awards diamond, gold or silver honors based on "excellence" in one or all of three categories: Innovation; Sustainability; and Cost/Waste Reduction.

In addition to being recognized for our previous DuPont Award wins, P&G also won a 2013 DuPont Gold Awards for the Easy-Open Venus and Olay® Razor Packaging.

P&G Makes List of Top Ten Meaningful Brands in World

Recently, P&G was named #9 on Havas Media’s second annual Meaningful Brands Index, a global survey that measures how people around the world feel about a range of brands.

“…an increasing group of companies is striving--intentionally or not--to focus on improving lives. It’s these companies that rose to the top of Havas Media’s second annual Meaningful Brands Index,” according to the article in Fast Company.

The survey included feedback from more than 134,000 people in 23 countries about their impressions of more than 400 brands, from Apple to Goldman Sachs to Petrobras.

“They’ve found a rousing affirmation of last year’s findings: Brands that make life better are thriving. Brands that don’t are--slowly--being punished,” according to the article.

Google finished in first place, followed by Samsung, Microsoft, Nestle and Sony.

P&G Wins Best Procurement Team for 2013

P&G recently earned recognition as The Best Procurement Team during the 2013 Procurement Leaders awards event. The annual event recognizes the top performing purchasing organizations in a number of areas, as well as individuals and categories of performance. 

P&G competed against 18 other companies for the recognition.

“This is an outstanding recognition of our performance and contribution to the Company relative to other multinationals,” said Rick Hughes, Chief Purchasing Officer. “There were over 200 companies present, and over 650 attendees at the event.”
