His revolutionary vision defined the hair industry as we know it today – from what it means to be a hairdresser to how women wear and care for their hair.
His revolutionary short, angular hairstyle made women feel beautiful and empowered. Sassoon’s approach had such an effect on pop culture that it helped to propel the fashion world and liberated women’s lives. With his “If You Don’t Look Good, We Don’t Look Good” belief, Sassoon launched a namesake line of hair products and opened 32 salons and 14 training academies worldwide.
50 years since Vidal’s iconic cut inspired the fashion world, P&G is returning Sassoon’s expertise to the retail space and expanding our hair care and color portfolio with the introduction of the Vidal Sassoon Pro Series. The new color, care and styling collections are designed to provide women the inspiration and products they need to create hair styles that showcase their most effortlessly beautiful, individual, real-life style.
The line is inspired by Sassoon’s brilliance and insights from consumers, stylists, and scientists. The result? A line that preserves his legacy, ensuring that women can still benefit from his innovative approach – stylish, low-maintenance hair with products available at affordable prices in stores where women already shop, and that fit into her daily routine. Consumers will begin seeing the iconic red brand color on store shelves this month.

The launch also signifies an important expansion for P&G Hair Care & Color portfolio and is part of an exciting year for P&G Hair Care & Color, as we expand in the mid-tier segment with Vidal Sassoon and into the super-premium segment with Pantene Expert Collection.
In addition to this product launch and in partnership with Wella, the Salon Professional division of P&G, P&G Hair Care & Color also recently announced a $1.5 million Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship Program to further celebrate his achievements and carry on his commitment to artistry.
