    There are 1.2 billion adolescents in the world, with an estimated 50 million girls starting puberty each year.     The Segura’s family dream of one day having a home has finally come true.As part of the Happy Homes program in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, over 100 P&G Costa Rica volunteers built a beautiful home in the city of Paraiso de Cartago for Ana Ligia Segura and her three children. They can now enjoy the comforts and feeling of home, and join the many other families who have benefited from this program in the past.more...

    Seven years after Hurricane Katrina destroyed much of New Orleans, Hurricane Isaac made landfall in Louisiana.  Nearly 700,000 homes and businesses in Louisiana and Mississippi were without power late Wednesday, and Isaac continues to devastate the New Orleans area.     A massive clean-up is under way in the Philippines after floods swept through the capital of Manila and nearby provinces after 12 days of monsoon rains, compounded by a typhoon and tropical storms. Millions were affected by the flooding, and hundreds of thousands of people are still displaced and without power. P&G Philippines is responding with a “Rebuild Philippines” program to support flood victims and help them rebuild their homes and livelihoods. more...

    In Vietnam’s northern Hung Yen Province, Minh Phuong is one of the poorest communes in the district, and many children there do not have an opportunity to attend kindergarten. Their temporary classroom, a structure that is 500 – 600 years old and part of a pagoda (temple), is dark and damp, weathered and dilapidated, hardly an ideal environment for children and learning.more...

    In the past week, there have been numerous disasters including wildfires in the Western U.S. and violent storms impacting several Midwestern and Eastern states. Hundreds of people have lost their homes in Colorado and New Mexico and many are still struggling across the East having no electricity in the mist of record high temperatures.
