The Ivorydale Flood - 1937

See video

Description:

The worst natural disaster to ever strike Cincinnati, Ohio, occurred 75 years ago in the form of the flood of 1937. Few could have imagined the magnitude of the flood and its 80-foot peak, which caused more than 500 deaths and destroyed $7.8 billion worth of property (in today's dollars).

Employees at one of P&G's premier plants -- the Ivorydale plant situated next to Mill Creek -- labored to protect the site. In spite of their efforts, the plant was ultimately inundated with water.

This video documents the workers’ struggles as well as their dedication to the plant and the Cincinnati community.
