On the heels of the #LikeAGirl awards in Cannes, Always is thrilled to announce its next chapter in the #LikeAGirl movement.

As a brand, Always is continuing its mission to stop the drop in confidence girls experience at puberty. More than 50% of girls report a drop in confidence during puberty; many never recover.

Based on the latest Always Confidence and Puberty Survey, society plays a significant role in this. In fact, 72% of girls feel held back by society, telling them what they should and shouldn’t do based solely on their gender.

Sparked by this insight, Always is releasing a new video entitled Always #LikeAGirl Unstoppable, which demonstrates how girls feel boxed in by society’s expectations and beliefs about women. Always is encouraging all girls to smash any limitations that hold them back, empowering them to be unstoppable.

With the launch of the new video, the brand is also kicking off the Always #LikeAGirl Confidence Teaching Curriculum. Co-developed with education thought leaders and experts, the curriculum is based on the belief that confidence can be taught. The curriculum builds on Always’ 30-year heritage in puberty education, and will reach up to 20 million girls in 65 countries per year.

Always is also excited to announce a unique partnership with TED, the nonprofit dedicated to spreading ideas. In this first-of-its-kind partnership, Always will co-create confidence-inspiring content with TED-Ed, the education initiative of TED and leading educational platform spreading lessons worth sharing. The new video and TED partnership will be unveiled over the next 24 hours at a series of summits that focus on building girls’ confidence.

In the U.S., the summit will be hosted by teen actress and activist Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and is taking place in New York City from 12-2 pm EDT today. London and Johannesburg will also be live at the same time; Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, Paris, Warsaw and Istanbul will follow tomorrow (July 8).

You can join Always and support the #LikeAGirl movement in three ways:

  • Share the Always #LikeAGirl Unstoppable video on your social media networks.
  • Take a picture, shoot a video or tweet a message to @Always using the hashtag #LikeAGirl to take a stand and show young girls everywhere that girls can do anything and everything.
  • Join the live stream of the #LikeAGirl Confidence Summit on July 7 from 12-2pm EDT.

Let’s continue to help build girls’ confidence and make #LikeAGirl mean amazing things!
